International Graduate Program(A);(Integrated Doctoral Education Program/ Master's Program/ Doctoral Program) Overseas Application/October Admission
Individuals living outside Japan wishing to enroll in the International Graduate Program should obtain an Application Guide from the Admission Division website. Each applicant is required to directly contact the contact person of each department or prospective academic advisor of his/her preference. Before sending the application to the Admission Division, the applicant should obtain the consent of a faculty member who will agree to become his/her academic advisor, in the event of acceptance into this program.

There are three types of programs: the Integrated Doctoral Education Program, Master's Program and Doctoral Program. Applicants should check the structure of the program for which they wish to apply before submitting their application. Integrated Doctoral Education Programs require all students to enroll in the Tokyo Tech Master's program (pre-Doctoral program), and applicants may obtain their Master's and Doctoral degree within a minimum of three years.

Screening comprises document screening and oral examinations. However, examination scores that objectively indicate English Proficiency Test (TOEFL-iBT/TOEFL-CBT,TOEFL-PBT/IELTS-academic module) are required, so please take this examination beforehand. Furthermore, as oral examinations will be conducted, applicants are advised to contact with his/her prospective academic advisor at Tokyo Tech as early as possible.

Successful candidates are announced in Mid-March. Notification of Examination Results and notice about admission procedures will be sent out to academic advisors.

Important Note: Integrated Doctoral Education Programs(Program No. 1,3,4 6,7), require all students to enroll in the Tokyo Tech Master's Program (Pre-Doctoral Program), regardless of whether or not they have already received a Master's degree.

<Integrated Doctoral Education Program>
The Integrated Doctoral Education Program is designed as a combined program from Master's program to Doctoral program, which cannot be separated from each other. In Master's program, a student who made an outstanding academic record during the program may be able to shorten the period of study to a minimum of one year. In the Doctoral program, a student who made an outstanding academic record and research results during the program may be able to shorten the period of study to a minimum of two years. The minimum period of whole program can be three years in total that includes both the Master's and Doctoral programs. In the conventional structure of the Japanese postgraduate program, a student who studies for a Master's degree must take 30 credits or more in the two years program study, and for a Doctoral degree he/she must study additional three years after the Master's program.

Integrated Doctoral Education Programs require all students to enroll in the Tokyo Tech Master's Program (Pre-Doctoral Program), regardless of whether or not they have already received Master's degree. The credits obtained in their graduate schools can be transferred to Tokyo Tech (max 10 credits) by approval. Those who enroll in this program must take qualifying examination of Master's degree after around one year, and he/she might be conferred a Master's degree.
